Can I take snacks in my briefcase on board a plane?

Can you answer Rockster's question about briefcases?:

Haven't flown in years just wondering if I am allowed to take a candy bar or crackers in my briefcase on board the plane. With so many restrictions I just wondered. I am flying out in the morning any fast answers will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can take food. If you want to take any toiletries on the plane they have to be less than 3 ounce containers, and you cannot have more than will fit in a quart size ziplock bag. I take those 100 calorie packs of cheez its, candy bars, dried fruit all the time. No problem. Take cash for your beverages, too. Have a good flight!

Yes, my daughter just flew to FL and I packed her a full lunch. I packed a ham sandwich on a roll, some fat free chips and I made homemade lemon bars for her. I saw tons of people that had food packed.

yes you can. I remember flying to U.K once and i packed snacks and they were totally okay with it. Sometimes you can just tell them to order special where you can order what ever you want.
